EXAMPLES OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
• Provides a remarkable customer service experience to citizens, internal and external customers by responding to requests in a positive, timely, effective, and professional
manner.
• Will work together as one to establish a healthy working environment by maximizing productivity and boosting team morale.
• Assist the public at the counter or by the phone to provide information about the procedures and requirements of the disposition of cases filed in the municipal court, payment of fines, court settings, time payments, deferred disposition, driver safety courses.
• Balance cash drawer daily and process all required reports.
• Perform date entry for court records; entry of citations, payments, dispositions to update status of cases, applying and forfeiting cash bonds, applying credit for time served.
• Prepare letters, notices and correspondences for incoming mail, new citations entered, deferred disposition, driving safety courses, juvenile hearings, and juror summons.
• Prepare court dockets for preliminary hearings and trials.
• Maintains trial dockets by preparing dockets, notifying defendants, attorneys, officers, complainants and witnesses, preparing and mailing subpoenas, selecting names of
prospective jurors, preparing summons and assisting the prosecutor where needed.
• Attend court sessions on scheduled court dates to provide assistance to the judge, prosecutor, attending attorneys and defendants.
• Update status on warrants and prepare warrants for delinquent citations.
• Maintain confidentiality with regards to all court files
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates the desire to learn and the ability to cross-train and perform other duties with the municipal court.
• Serves as a representative of the court within the community; coordinates and conducts community outreach and education, as assigned.
• Keep the Court Administrator informed of all problems and important issues.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Maintain knowledge and keeps abreast of new laws and Court Procedures and the application to each case. Makes good use of reference materials as a resource to the
position, attend training as needed.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Positive attitude in dealing with the public, judge, prosecutor, court administrator, and co-workers.
• Demonstrate a willingness to perform duties in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong typing skills.
• Ability to write records, reports, and receipts; ability to complete forms.
• Must possess time management and organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize work assignments with accuracy and detail.
• Skilled in critical thinking, listening, and following directions.
• Comprehensive ability to disseminate information quickly and perform tasks under pressure with short deadlines.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Provide excellent customer service and remain professional while dealing with difficult individuals.
• Make decisions in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the ordinances of the City of Mansfield with prudence, Integrity and in an impartial manner.
• Effectively respond to a high-pressure environment; meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks under pressure; ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in
priorities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer Service/Cash Collections experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.
• Two years of court clerk experience.
• INCODE 9 software knowledge.
• Municipal Court Clerk Level I Certification or the ability to achieve within 12 months of hire.

DESIRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bilingual
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Attendance of programs provided by the Texas Court Clerk Association (TCCA) for continuing education. Must be able to travel as needed to attend education courses.

• Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly moving from one work site to another.
• Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
• Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
• Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
• Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
2. The physical requirements of this position
• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move
objects.
3. The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.
• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
