J O B V A C A N C Y P O S T I N G COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST Posting No: 23-011Posting Dates: Open Date: 05/04/2023 Close Date: Until filledBrief Description of the Job: Receives and dispatches emergency calls to the proper fire or police emergency units. Assists citizens with non-emergency calls and may enter and confirm warrants, stolen articles and missing persons. JOB REQUIRES SHIFT WORK, INCLUDING WEEKENDS, DEEP NIGHTS, HOLIDAYS, ETC. SHIFTS ARE ASSIGNED BY SENIORITY IN DEPARTMENT.
Education, Certification and Experience Requirements: High school diploma, GED, or equivalency. No previous experience is required. Valid Texas Operator Driver’s License. Preferred: Have or be able to obtain Public Safety Dispatcher Certification and TCIS-NCIC/TLETS-NLETS/Enhanced 911 Certification.
Essential Functions:
. FLSA: Non-exempt Hours: Shift Work Salary Range: $43,000-$48,000 annually
