The purpose of this position is to preserve safe building conditions by ensuring the quality and integrity of residential and commercial buildings through the review of construction plans and issuance of building permits. This is accomplished by providing information to customers regarding building codes and other development policies; reviewing construction plans and documents; preparing reports; assisting contractors, builders and citizens; providing support to the Building Official; issuing building permits and conducting field inspections. This position does not provide direction to other employees.
