JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide marketing, research, and administrative support to the Economic Development Department in the promotion of the community and its economic development efforts designed to create new investment.

EXAMPLES OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED:

  • Develop and maintain marketing materials for Department
  • Maintain MEDC website to ensure information is current, accurate and relevant.
  • Process bills / payments of invoices on a timely basis; input yearly budget.
  • Manage Property Data on the MEDC Website and ensure new properties are listed in the database.
  • Assist in the preparation of site location proposals. Prepare maps, community profiles, demographic analyses, etc.
  • Be the primary contact when corresponding with Board members and coordinate with Board President and Secretary for official signatures on various documents.
  • Prepare monthly board packets, attend evening board meetings and any additional meetings requested by City Council.
  • Prepare maps utilized in marketing efforts using ArcView software.
  • Produce in-house marketing pieces by compiling and publishing printed materials for the promotion of Mansfield. Collaborate with marketing firms to produce any outside marketing materials.
  • Maintain all collateral materials produced by the Department including community profile, traffic counts, retail data, and survey responses.
  • Coordinate, manage, and participate in trade shows for the Department. Coordinate booth set up, order promotional items, lease space, work in the booth to answer questions, etc.
  • General office management duties, including but not limited to, ordering, and purchasing supplies, coordinating building improvements and maintenance. Picking up and delivering mail at City Hall and/or various city facilities.
  • Provide support as necessary in performing duties as assigned.
  • Act as the records officer and maintain all records.
  • Act as the social media officer and attend meetings required by the Communication and Marketing Department.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with groups to come to consensus.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years office/administrative experience, preferably in Economic Development.
  • Experience with using GIS mapping software.
  • Strong proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Suite and Adobe products.

DESIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Business, Real Estate, Economic Development, City Planning or similar field.
  • Experience with Arc View.
  • Experience with Legistar.
  • Additional specialized training or certification.
