BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Environmental Services is charged with the maintenance and operation of Sandpoint Landfill, located 12 miles east of Carlsbad on Highway 62/180, utilizing a variety of equipment.  The Landfill Operator shall be proficient in the operation , correct application, and safe use of hand tools; the operation and maintenance of trash compactors, front end loaders, dozers, scrapers; the safe, proper, and efficient hauling and placement of various types of material using the above equipment, the daily maintenance check lists of equipment including walk-around and pre-trip and operation inspections; the daily paperwork required of the Environmental Services; the routine maintenance and cleanliness of equipment assigned; receiving and execution of directions; debriefing for daily activities; working in a crew environment and becoming an integral part of the crew.  The Operator is subject to random drug screening as a safety sensitive position.  Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The Road Manager Carlsbad, Road Manager Artesia, and Sandpoint Manager all have equal authority to direct your work schedule at any time.
