SUMMARY The purpose of the School Crossing Guard is to provide assistance to children crossing streets, walking to and from school. Duties include holding a sign to control traffic and escorting school-aged children safely across various streets and intersections. Duties will require working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions. Schedule and assignment locations may vary and will work split shifts. The duty hours are one and one half hours (1 hour 30 minutes) for each shift, morning and afternoon. Employees would only be working a maximum of 3 hours daily. If hired as a substitute school crossing guard, this position works on an on-call basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High School diploma / GED preferred but not required. Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age or older. Must have a valid Texas Class C diver’s license or Identification Card and valid automobile insurance. Must have access to reliable transportation.
WORK SCHEDULE Available to work Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
