Duties include assisting the staff veterinarian as directed with animal exams and treatments to ensure efficient and timely patient care; handling and restraining animals; and assisting in all aspects of surgery including surgery preparation, intubation, induction of anesthesia, and monitoring. Duties also include performing lab tests, operating medical equipment, and cleaning animal kennels and clinic areas. A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience are required; some additional specialized training beneficial. Must have or obtain euthanasia certification within six months from date of hire. Veterinary technician licensure or certification preferred. Must have knowledge of veterinary practices and equipment. Hours will vary Monday through Sunday; schedule may include some evenings. A résumé must be submitted with application.
