The ideal candidate must be able to coordinate and provide oversight of the Residential Rental Property License Program, all assigned personnel, program finances and budget, vehicles and equipment, and all materials and supplies. The ideal candidate must maintain effective relationships. An understanding of tactfully and courteously communicating with members of the general public are a must for this candidate. We are looking for a candidate that is able to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision. The perfect candidate will have experience with scheduling, supervising and completing inspections of private properties for violations of the Sugar Land Code of Ordinances, the Sugar Land Development Code, the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code and the International Swimming Pool & Spa Code. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in the role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability. What We Need from You as Code Compliance Coordinator As our Code Compliance Coordinator, you will represent the City of Sugar Land Environmental Division. You will be expected to a develop and maintain positive working relationships within property owners as well as internal city clients. You will be responsible for assisting in the design and implementation of programs directed towards community improvement. Much of your day will be spent as a liaison for the rental and code enforcement inspectors. This position will enhance team building skills and your knowledge of code and rental operations. It is your priority to deliver excellent customer service to our citizens while maintaining the City of Sugar Land’s positive perception of the Environmental and Neighborhood Services Department. The ideal candidate is hard-working, patient and detail oriented. You listen to your superiors and co-workers. You are diligent and able to multi-task, so your work gets completed in an organized fashion. You follow through and are accountable for all actions. Being at work on time is a priority along with following all safety protocols. When an emergency situation arises, you are not easily flustered, but are willing to work hard to help in any way designated by your leadership team.
