HIRING RANGE: $14.71 - $18.02 Hourly

FULL SALARY RANGE: $14.71 - $21.33 Hourly

The purpose of this position is to ensure patrons receive outstanding food served in a clean, friendly atmosphere. This is accomplished by insuring all applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances are followed regarding proper food handling and preparation, as well as beverage serving. This position may provide lead direction to other employees.

 

Essential Functions

The information listed below is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of this position.

  • Prepares and cooks special request items for suites and ensures accuracy of all pre-ordered food before it is delivered to guests.
  • Prepares and cooks ala carte orders and for catered functions utilizing prep sheets and ensuring food is prepared per the event rider.
  • Ensures equipment is in proper working order by inspecting the kitchen area for cleanliness and needed repairs and reporting results to the Executive Chef.
  • Ensures staff members follow all applicable laws and ordinances by reviewing and enforcing proper food handling and preparation regulations.

 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • High School diploma or equivalent plus two (2) years of relevant work experience.


Certification and Other Requirements

  • TDSHS Food Handler's License
  • TABC Certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred. (Must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes working evenings, nights, weekends and some holidays. 

Overall Physical Strength Demands
Medium: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.

 

Supplemental Information

Reading 

Intermediate - Ability to read papers, periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Math 
Intermediate - Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Writing 
Intermediate - Ability to write reports, prepare business letters, expositions, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in high school up to college. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

Managerial 
Receives general directions. The employee normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. The employee may choose the appropriate procedure or policy. Performance is reviewed periodically.

Supervisory / Organizational Control 
Work requires functioning as a lead worker performing essentially the same work as those directed, and includes overseeing work quality, training, instructing, and scheduling work.

Complexity 
Work requires analysis and judgment in accomplishing diversified duties. Requires the exercise of independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents.

Interpersonal / Human Relations Skills
Discussion Frequent: From 21% to 50% of work time.
