Category: Full-Time Salary: Min $24.398 - Mid: $30.498 DEFINITION Reviews construction plans for compliance with applicable City, State, and Federal rules, regulations, and codes. Manages and maintains the records and documents collected and created for plan reviews performed by the City. Inspects existing and new commercial buildings and residential units to determine compliance with city ordinance, plans, and codes.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives direction from the Fire Marshal. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Principles, practices, methods, and techniques of modern fire inspections and plan review. Applicable laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, and codes pertaining to fire inspection and plan review. Engineering and architectural design principles and practices.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES Possession of a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Fire Inspector and Plans Examiner certification, required.
