Join our newly formed Public Works Business Administration Office as an integral team member at the intersection of data, budgeting, and operations. Do you have a data science background with fiscal experience? Do you have the ability to adopt new Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms, like Smartsheet, and a passion for helping others learn new technologies? Are your Excel skills beyond pivot tables, and do you understand DAX or M Formula Language?

If you enjoy cross-function collaboration, this position has a unique opportunity to develop and maintain custom data-driven solutions to assist with business operations. You will work dynamically with our contracting, procurement, and other administrative teams, giving you a broader experience than a typical financial or data analysis role.

Job Description:

Budget & Financial Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the Public Works annual budget.
  • Assists in the development of and maintenance of rate models, budget models, and revenue/expenditure analysis.
  • Assist with division budget reviews and meetings.
  • Research and coordinate with the Public Works management team and Office of Financial Management (OFM) analysts regarding the annual operating and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budgets.
  • Assist Risk Management with insurance claims and revenue reimbursements.

 

Data Analytics:

  • Extract, Load, and Transform organizational data to develop department-level databases.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI Enterprise Reports and daily refresh financial data supporting departmental Spend Plans.
  • Measure trends and performance for financial and operational reports
  • Support department staff and provide technical expertise related to various software systems.

 

Business Administration Office & Project Management:

  • Project management for special projects, consulting with departments to develop Smartsheet solutions and managing workspaces and other asset management systems.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including APWA accreditation efforts.

 

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or job-related field and 2 years job-related experience
  • OR- 6 years professional job-related experience can be substituted at management discretion for the required education
  • OR- Related professional program/ project management may substitute for the required education at management discretion
  • Valid Florida driver’s license

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data modeling, financial reporting, work order and asset management systems, familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS)  products  like  Smartsheet  and  others  related  to  business  processing  and  project management, and comprehensive written and oral communication

 

 

 

About Everything Else

Pay Range: $51,542.40 - $69,284.80
