The City of Longview operates under a council-manager form of government, with an elected City Council serving as the community’s policymakers and staff working under the direction of an appointed City Manager. Longview’s Director of Parks and Recreation plans and directs the activities of the parks and recreation staff, focused on serving the community through the development and maintenance of park facilities and an expanding and flexible program of recreational activities for all segments, groups, ages, and interest levels.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in park administration, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Candidates should also have seven years of progressively responsible management experience in parks and recreation and a valid driver’s license. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role will be considered.

Longview is offering a salary range of $108,936 to $147,383 for this position, depending on experience and qualifications.
