The City of Sugar Land is inviting economic development professionals who are interested in a part-time position as a Promotions Assistant to apply to join our amazing City! This exciting position works Monday – Friday during typical business hours as well as occasional evening hours when attending events.

The ideal candidate must be able to help generate brand awareness, cultivate visitor engagement at grassroots events, and collect data for lead generation.. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively with all levels of employees and management and assist in providing solutions to projects and tasks. An understanding of Economic Development operations are ideal. We are looking for an outgoing individual who is comfortable talking to people and promoting the City of Sugar Land and its offerings. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is critical for success in this role, as are high levels of accuracy, timeliness and dependability. What We Need From You as a Promotions Assistant
As a Promotions Assistant, you will serve as a key community ambassador for Visit Sugar Land and the Office of Economic Development as the first line of representation at community appearances and other grassroots events to market and promote the City of Sugar Land as a competitive meeting, corporate, and leisure destination, and as a strategic location for business investment and an economic powerhouse.
If you can do those things and meet the following requirements, we would be happy to speak with you:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of practical experience in grassroots marketing, retail or customer service environment. 
  • Class C Texas Driver’s License 
  • CPR and AED Certified (If not certified at the time of hire, candidate must be certified within 30 days of hire)
