HIRING RANGE: $20.70 - $25.36 Hourly

FULL SALARY RANGE: $20.70 - $30.02 Hourly

The purpose of this position is to maintain the integrity of the City's guest service operations. This is accomplished by organizing and coordinating memberships, patron inquires, and Recreation Specialist I, providing customer service to new and current members, assisting with front desk operations, completing new member contracts, and supervising part-time and full-time employees. Other duties may include answering phones, opening and closing facilities, training new employees on computer systems, and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position provides direction to other employees.  

 

Essential Functions

The information listed below is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of this position.

  • Oversees daily operations of the learn to swim program by assuming responsibility for opening and closing the facility, supervising part-time and full-time employees, and providing assistance when appropriate.
  • Provides customer service support to all facility members, guests, and program participants by greeting, answering phones, and responding to customer and employee inquiries.
  • Supervises personnel by interviewing qualified applicants, selecting, and hiring new employees, coordinating training for program personnel, observing work tasks and monitoring certification status, evaluating work performance, assisting employees to correct deficiencies, and implementing disciplinary procedures when necessary.

 

Job Requirements

Education & Experience
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year of relevant work experience; OR
  • Associate's degree plus five (5) years of relevant work experience


Certification and Other Requirements

  • Valid Class C Driver's License
  • American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification within first 30 days of employment.
