Job Description:

  • Provide janitorial services by cleaning and maintaining: play areas, court surfaces, picnic shelters, plant bed areas, parking lots, etc.

  • Pick up and remove trash from all grounds, courts, shelters, and other areas. 

  • Maintain and clean interior and outdoor facilities, including restrooms, weight room, gymnasium, meeting rooms, kitchen area, and offices.

  • Clean windows, paint, sweep, mop, strip and wax floors. 

  • Set up and dismantle tables, chairs, and sports nets & goals. 

  • Make semi-skilled repairs as needed at primary and other assigned facilities.

 

 

Work Locations: 

  • Laurel Park and Sandra Sims Terry Community Center, 509 Collins Road, Nokomis, FL 34275
  • Nokomis Community Center, 234 Nippino Trail E, Nokomis, FL 34275

 

Work Hours: Tuesday - Saturday,  7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

 

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent

  • Valid Florida Driver's License, or ability to obtain by start date

  • Ability to obtain First Aid CPR/AED certification within six (6) months of hire

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.

 

 

 

Physical Demands:  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

 

 

 

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
