This is a part time position.  Work schedule is flexible, but will be Monday-Thursday between 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Position Function - Under the direction of the Director of Public Works and/or Designee, performs assigned duties necessary to enforce the City’s Code of Ordinances and Federal and State regulations regarding water and wastewater quality compliance, processes and procedures; backflow and/or cross connection monitoring and testing; mosquito control and abatement; and water shed protection, conservation and quality.     

Essential Duties    % of Performance     

Performs assigned duties necessary to assist with the enforcement of the City’s Code of Ordinances and Federal and State regulations regarding Cross Connection Control; backflow monitoring and testing; Stormwater Quality Compliance, processes and procedures; Vector Control and Abatement, Fats/Oils/Grease (FOG) Program operation and management.  Duties include, but are not limited to: creating and issuing surveys, permits and citations; conducting field tests and investigations; collecting and delivering samples; performing and preparing enforcement actions; and collecting and preparing evidence for legal prosecution of violators. Responsible to preform site visits and inspections.     50%    

Assists with performing assigned duties necessary to respond to and resolve customer complaints and submisions received on the City of Keller website (e.g. odor, overflows, etc.).     Responsible for inspecting commercial grease interceptors and bulk grease tanks; and coordinating violations. Assists with mosquito control and abatement program to include, but not limited to: set and collect traps; and apply treatment and pre-treatment to areas as needed or as directed.     20%    

Responsible for maintaining records and reports, and staying abreast on Local, State and/or Federal regulations, methods, and/or best practices.     15%    

Responsible to assist with the maintenance of the City web page; development and creation of public educational materials; meetings with community partners; and community events.    10%    

Performs additional duties as assigned.    5%

Environment
Duties are performed primarily within an office and outdoor environment or setting.  Exposure to electrical and chemical hazards; odor; vibration; noise; inclement weather; moving parts and/or components; dust, allergens, or mold; blood borne pathogens, insects; insulation, etc.

Requirements/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Required knowledge and experience is normally obtained through the completion of High School Diploma or GED. (1) year of work-related experience in construction, inspection, lab testing, or related field is preferred but not required.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making.  
Ability to read and write letters, memos, emails, and industry literature.
Ability to competently use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and digital filing and work order systems.
Ability to research, compile, and analyze data, and present findings to staff and management in an acceptable format.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees, other Federal, State, and local governmental representatives, contractors, consultants, vendors, and the general public.
Ability to exhibit attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
Ability to read, understand and/or interpret Local, State and Federal regulations and/or industry specific information.
Ability to assist with the development and/or implementation of work related policies and procedures. 
Must be able to communicate and present oneself in a professional manner.
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.  Must pass all post offer pre-employment process and/or procedures, including but not limited to: drug screen, physical, and applicable background checks.
