As a key player under the airport manager's supervision, the Airport Operations Manager holds a crucial role in managing and leading the day-to-day operations of the airfield. This position also involves providing complex administrative support to ensure the efficient functioning of the Georgetown Executive Airport.

  • Represents the airport in operational matters, which includes coordinating with different departments for operational matters.
  • Manages the airport NOTAM program and coordinates with federal agencies.
  • Manages and implements training programs for the operations and maintenance staff.
  • Meets regularly with airport tenants, businesses, and maintenance personnel to discuss issues and provide corrective action when required.
  • Administers and keeps records of airfield driver training.
  • Assist with conducting airfield inspections to assure compliance with our safety inspection program.
  • Manage and assist with policing the airport's rules, regulations, minimum standards, and ordinances.
  • Oversee the SWPPP, SPCC Wildlife Hazard Management Plan, Security Plan, and Fueling Operations.
  • Inspects Airport property for policy, safety, and security compliance; recommends and takes corrective actions.
  • Evaluates service needs, equipment, and work methods; develops plans to satisfy current and future needs of the Airport; assists in establishing and enforcing operating and safety procedures; investigates service requests and complaints made by the public and airport users.
  • Assumes the duties of the airport Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
  • Assumes the duties of the Airport Manager in their absence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education, training, and Experience Guidelines
A bachelor’s degree in aviation management, public administration, or a related field and five (5) years experience in an airport environment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, with at least (2) two years in a manager or supervisor capacity.

Knowledge of:

  • General aviation and airport security procedures.
  • Applicable local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Budgeting practices and procedures

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A valid Class "C" Texas driver’s license is required.
  • AAAE CM preferred or can obtain 12 months of hire date.
  • Must obtain airport movement area training and pass the airport driving test within a month of hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, Exposure to weather, aircraft engine noise, dust, pollen, liquid petroleum products, and other chemicals. Exposure to high-stress situations and must be a team player.

Hiring Range: $59,269.60 - $74,256.00, annually
