Performs all routine electrical work for the parks department.

• Troubleshoots all park facilities such as irrigation motors, meter loops and ball field lights.
• Installs all new electricity related to new construction.
• Oversees all electrical aspects of Community Services.
• Maintains or repairs all electrical irrigation systems.
• Maintains all park lights in ball fields.
• Builds meter loops in all the parks.
• Installs wiring and rewiring for various projects. Wires new buildings and pump houses.
• Works on swimming pool pump motors.
• Performs other tasks related to parks maintenance as directed by the Parks Division.

Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building to building. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various worksites. Employee will work in seasonal temperatures bending, lifting and moving pieces of equipment such as ladders, bucket trucks and scaffolds in order to complete work or make repairs on parks equipment. Employee may be exposed to potentially hazardous electricity while installing or maintaining parks.

Employee communicates with other employees in the work group and may respond to questions from the general public regarding services or specific projects.

Ability to read and understand work orders and equipment manuals. Skill in the operation of hand tools and equipment such as electrical measuring meters and devices and ditching machines. Ability to figure such items as voltage drops.

High school diploma or equivalent plus five to seven years of experience as an electrician. Journeyman's License as an electrician required. Valid Texas Driver's License.
