Description | Information Specialist Summary: Supervises the daily operations of the Operations Administrative Assistant and the Special Operations Administrative Assistant of the Odessa Police Department and providing support needs to all other areas of the Odessa Police Department. Tasked with responsibility of servicing and maintaining software systems critical to the operation of the police department. Serve as a liaison to Information Technology and other city departments. Responsible for coordinating, organizing and directing system management between the various bureaus. Oversees daily operation of all software systems of the department. Determines necessary technology advances and coordinates through proper channels. Additionally, the Information Specialist will be responsible for development and implementation of systems and provide in-service training for sworn and non-sworn members of the Police Department. Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree or higher in management or computer science preferred OR any equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum of three year's experience in relevant software preferred.
