Description | A Hurst Residential Building Inspector delivers service to our citizens by conducting on-site inspections, reviewing plans, and conferring with contractors and homeowners. The person who accepts this full-time position will become an integral member of the Hurst Planning and Community Development Department, whose mission is to promote the efficient and orderly development of private properties and businesses. The department strives for excellence through teamwork, following the City’s Code of Ideals. We are pleased to offer an annual salary of $55,000 to $58,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The City also provides a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their families. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, long term care and disability coverage, as well as other optional programs. The City participates in Social Security and in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 match in retirement. Minimum Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent, five years of experience in related field (city building inspection, residential construction) or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. A valid State of Texas Driver's License is required. Must hold current ICC Certifications in Residential Building, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical or a Combination Inspector Certification. State Plumbing Inspector License is required. International Energy Conservation Code certifications required within one year.
