This position is responsible for performing routine manual work in connection with the kitchen operations of a nutrition program. Duties include assisting in serving meals for senior clients; monitoring food temperatures and safety codes; maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dishwashing areas; maintaining inventory control sheets; and organizing storage area. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Position requires standing for the majority of the work time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Formal or informal education and training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance; at least six (6) months of related experience; and valid Certified Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire, are required.
