Description | The city is accepting applications for Lifeguard II (Head Lifeguards) and Pool Supervisors for the summer, with employment typically beginning around early May and running through Labor Day. Seasonal employees in these positions normally work 40 hours or more per week outdoors. The Lifeguard II position is responsible for ensuring patron safety in all aspects at assigned pools, and overseeing and managing communications between staff and the general public. Duties include overseeing day-to-day operations of assigned facility, including supervising lifeguard staff, assigning duties and preparing various reports and logs; performing cashier and front desk duties; training lifeguards in required skills; and maintaining pool facility, equipment and supplies. Experience in lifeguarding, and current Lifeguard certification issued by the American Red Cross, or the ability to obtain by date of hire, are required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Starting pay is $14.31 per hour. The Pool Supervisor position is responsible for ensuring patron safety and delivering exceptional services, promoting a high quality of life at all aquatic facilities; training, supervising and leading staff to highest industry standards; and communicating effectively with facility users. Duties include overseeing and performing all aspects of pool operations and facility maintenance; performing cashier and front desk duties; signing off on daily revenue reconciliations; interfacing with aquatic facility group leaders to ensure that group experiences are positive; and leading and instructing in-services and aquatic program classes. A high school diploma or equivalent; experience in lifeguarding; possession of supervisory or lead experience; and current Lifeguard certification issued by the American Red Cross (ARC), or the ability to obtain by date of hire, are required. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification, and ARC-issued Lifeguard Instructor certification are beneficial. Starting pay is $17.56 per hour. |
