Description | Animal Control Shelter Manager Summary: Directs and coordinates work activities of Animal Control Shelter employees. Essential Functions: Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree is preferred. Three year's experience in Animal Control or Public Health Zoonosis Control AND two years of supervisory experience in Animal Control and/or Public Health Zoonosis Control in the public or private sector OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. If applicant does NOT possess an Associates degree seven (7) years experience is required. License and certification requirements: Valid Texas Driver's License is required. Must obtain Animal Control Officer Basic Training certification within one year from date of employment through the Texas Department of Health. Euthanasia certification through the Texas Department of Health is required or must be in process of obtaining. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
