Winneconne, WI (Population 2,447)
Located in the beautiful east central part of Wisconsin between Milwaukee and Green Bay and just west of Oshkosh, Winneconne is a regional retail and industrial center. Winneconne is bisected by the Wolf River and lies in middle of the Wolf Chain of Lakes including Butte des Morts, Poygan and Winneconne. The Village has a rich and vibrant history and is surrounded by natural beauty. Winneconne prides itself on its parks, outstanding schools, neighborliness and peaceful quality of life while being in close proximity to major metropolitan amenities.
Winneconne is a full service municipality and prides itself on being a wonderful community to live, work, and raise a family. Salary $70,000-$80,000 plus benefits, DOQ. Village President and six Village Board Members elected on a non-partisan basis. $3.4M total budget including Sewer and Water Utilities and Five TIFs, 19 FT and 14+PT/seasonal employees. Future emphasis on capital improvement planning and execution including major redevelopment opportunities and housing/neighborhood enhancements; Comprehensive Plan update; community fiber optic extension and continued sound financial and human resources management.
Require Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field; prefer Master’s Degree with at least 3 years progressive municipal management experience. Residency is encouraged. Desire a strong background in budget development/debt financing (including TIF experience); human resources management; community marketing/promotion; Economic development and intergovernmental relations .The successful candidate will demonstrate a highly collaborative style in carrying out governing body policies; a strong customer service orientation; a commitment to public service (exemplary work ethic); innovative approaches to problem-solving; team building abilities in addressing community issues/problems and visionary leadership.
