Description | Summary: Inspects plumbing and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems associated with new construction and alterations to determine compliance with adopted plumbing, fuel gas, mechanical, and energy codes. Enforces provisions of the Texas Plumbing License Law and other associated statutes, regulations and ordinances governing the plumbing and mechanical trades. Essential Functions:
Qualifications: Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with four years progressively responsible experience in the plumbing/HVAC trades. Possession of a current a current state plumbing inspector license or be qualified to take the examination within ninety (90) days is required. Generally, qualification requires possession of journeyman or master plumbing license, or a minimum of 500 hours of experience working in the plumbing trade, and/or various other methods of credit (See Plumbing Board Rules). Must achieve certification by a major code group within one year of hire.
