FORT BEND COUNTY

DEPARTMENT: COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR/COLLECTOR

JOB TITLE:  ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES COORDINATOR

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as administrative coordinator to elected official; managing special projects, financial matters and reports.  Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides administrative support to and acts as the special project coordinator for the Tax Assessor Collector.  Supervises, monitors and evaluates work of subordinates.  Prepares and conducts employee performance appraisals and prepares Job Evaluation Questionnaire.  Approves purchases and payment of invoices.  Requests, researches and monitors expenditures utilizing financial system for purchasing, auditing and reporting.  Assists with calculation, personnel costs, cost of proposed goods and services and prepares budget for submission to the County Budget Office.  Tracks tagged assets in compliance with Auditors and Purchasing.  Interacts with vendors for service, supplies, contracts, maintenance agreements and rentals.  Prepares and approves payroll for department.  Prepares and submits agenda items to Commissioners Court.  Attends agenda briefings.  Certifies all documents on behalf of Tax Assessor/Collector.  Prepares and maintains inter-local agreements for 50+ taxing entities.  Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma/GED with one year of College or specialized training.  Professional Office Management Degree preferred.  Five years of job related experience.  Strong computer, data entry and typing skills.  Proficient in spreadsheets, word processing, database applications and desktop publishing software.  Good verbal and written communication skills.  Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.  Ability to lead a team, strong organizational and management skills.  Strong written communication skills.  Analytical skills for problem-solving and report preparation.  Ability to keep financial records and perform mathematical tasks.  Thorough understanding of department mission, philosophy, goals, and ethics-confidentiality issue.

 

SALARY RANGE: Professional/Management Grade 10, $1,775.20 - $2,088.80 biweekly based on qualifications
