The Emergency Communications Division of CAPCOG, which is also a designated Emergency Communications District, is seeking an Accounting Analyst. The Emergency Communications Division works with agencies throughout the 10-county Capital Area Emergency Communications District which oversees and funds the region’s 9-1-1 program. It provides operational planning and technical assistance to 31 Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) to ensure 9-1-1 calls reach the right PSAP with correct location and caller information. The Emergency Communications Division is seeking candidates for an Accounting Analyst. The position performs accounting and procurement work involving the daily operations and activities of the division in support of 31 Public Safety Answering Points throughout the 10-county region. Work involves preparing financial records, documents, and reports; processing monthly accounts receivable and payable; reviewing operating budget; setting up and maintaining controls and information; and administration of public education material.

Education:

Preferred: Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or finance, or a closely related field.

Experience:

Required: Experience in accounting or financial operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Abilia (formerly Sage and MIP) software is generally preferred.

Successful completion of a CJIS background investigation required.

Salary range: $42,000 - $54,000 depending on qualifications
