Pinellas Park, FL (52,137) Chief Technology Officer, Pinellas Park is a progressive and growing City. Situated at the crossroads of the Tampa Bay area, the City has the largest industrial land base in Pinellas County. Though located in the state’s most densely populated county, Pinellas Park has maintained its small-town atmosphere. The Chief Technology Officer (aka IT Administrator) serves as a Department Head and is part of the senior management team. The Administrator is responsible for providing vision, strategic planning and leadership while developing, maintaining and enhancing the organization’s information technology and related systems. The Administrator oversees a department of 15 full-time and 1 part-time personnel, and several outsourced service contracts, and develops and maintains an IT structure that supports the needs of the City. The Administrator oversees a $3.15 million operating budget, and an annual capital equipment outlay of more than $500,000.

The position requirements are summarized as follows:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business, computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Six years of experience in information technology systems administration with a minimum of five years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Extensive knowledge of information technology operations and general practices, including current developments and innovations relevant to municipal government.
  • A strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills and significant career success in building collaborative, effective relationships across departments.
  • Experience in strategic planning, project management and complex problem solving with the ability to work effectively in a wide variety of governmental disciplines.
  • Knowledge of data and communication continuity, security and disaster recovery techniques.
  • Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, uses and service requirement of information technology systems with a strong understanding of business operations.

The hiring salary up to $89,125 - $109,848, depending on qualifications and experience, full range up to $132,572.  Excellent benefits package.
