Salary: $13.14 per hour, part-time job

The City of Southlake is searching for a customer focused team player who is passionate about providing world class customer service to a world class community. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service to library patrons and city employees, conduct and direct proper circulation of library materials, and perform related administrative duties. This is accomplished by interacting with customers concerning their accounts and library materials, handling library materials, creating and maintaining library records, and tending to the library environment. In addition, this position will support youth services by assisting and participating in children's programming including performing story time programs, craft programs, and more. Other responsibilities include providing accurate information to other city departments and the general public and performing a variety of duties relative to the assigned area of responsibility.

Essential Funtions:

Customer Service:  Provide customer service to library patrons by providing a positive interaction with every customer to include registering new card holders, responding to customer requests, notifying customers of materials on hold, etc.
Care of Library Materials:  Handle all materials in the library collection by checking materials in and out, retrieving materials from the outside book drop, shelving materials, removing damaged materials from the collection, shelf reading, etc. 
Administrative Assistance:  Perform administrative duties in the library to include, but is not limited to creating, entering and maintaining computer records, handling payments for late fees and purchases, inventory of office supplies, etc.

Certificates & Other Requirements
Working hours will include some weekends and evenings.
Applicants should be comfortable working in front of crowds and engaging with the public, particularly youth.
A background in youth programming, performing arts, or library services is desired.
