The City of Portland is currently recruiting for the position of Public Works Administrative Assistant. This position performs general clerical, administrative, and receptionist duties. Basic duties require excellent customer service skills, a "Team" philosophy, researching complex issues, managing departmental purchasing functions, and communicating with multiple departments and entities in a team-oriented manner. This position serves as a back-up to the Development Services Permit Technician and provides information to the public regarding building and zoning codes, as well as reviews and processes building permit applications. The Administrative Assistant will work closely in the development services functions related to zoning, platting and the submittal and intake of applications, plans and development proposals, while assisting in the preparation of staff reports to the Commission. The AA will also coordinate and attend monthly meetings of the Planning & Zoning Commission and prepare meeting minutes. |
