Description | The City of Portland is seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to fill a Maintenance Technician position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Under the supervision of the Director of Parks and Recreation, this full time position performs the general maintenance of facilities at the Daniel P Moore City Complex. Provides regular maintenance at the Portland Community Center and Aquatic Center, assist with maintenance at other city facilities as needed. Work also includes preventative maintenance, cleaning, water chemistry and repairs at the Aquatic Center, Veterans Memorial and splash pads at city parks. Other duties may be assigned. Employee is considered essential and attendance is mandatory in the event of a storm or disaster. Minimum qualifications require a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and Valid Texas Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class C License. Preferred Qualifications include one or more years in related experience. Must have knowledge of methods and tools used in park maintenance, maintaining and repairing pumps for pools or similar systems, basic plumbing, electrical, building, pool systems and construction practices. Salary: $11.62 to $13.50 per hour, depending on qualifications.
