Description | Supervisor, Traffic Signals (Official Job Title: Supervisor (Streets/R&B): Supervises and oversees Traffic Signal Electricians and daily activities and functions of assigned work for both routine and emergency maintenance; arranges necessary equipment, tools and assistance from others as needed; reviews and monitors safety of workers and equipment; ensures correct time and materials are charged for work performed; interfaces with departments, divisions, and internal staff on issues related to budgeting, staffing, discipline of employees, training/development, scheduling and other activities involving discretion and judgment. Duties:
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a High School Diploma and four (4) years related experience (Public Works Road & Bridge or Traffic environment) including supervisor experience. An Associate's Degree may be required with two (2) years of experience including supervisor experience. Some positions may require specific experience related to specialized technical skills. Valid state driver's license. Must obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "B" within the first six (6) months from date of hire. Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Trade school diploma related to Traffic Engineering and Operations and Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) preferred. Job Competencies: Effective Communication Tech, Supervising others, Ability to assign duties to others, Safety knowledge, Client/Customer relations, Basic mechanical skills and knowledge, and basic written and verbal interactions.
