The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, police administration, or a related field.  A master’s degree is preferred. Five to seven (5-7) years of supervisory experience or experience as a police chief is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered. A valid Class C driver's license and possession of an Advanced Texas Peace Officer Certificate are required. The chosen candidate must be a licensed Peace Officer in the State of Texas. The salary for this position starts at $107,000, depending on qualifications.
