Description

Salary:  $19.27 - $27.58  per hour (DOQ) Work Period: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and Experience:  High school diploma or GED supplemented by vocational/technical training in mechanics.  Two (2) years of experience and/or training in automotive/mechanical maintenance, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  License and Certifications:  Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record.  Service Writers ASE Certification or the ability to obtain within twelve (12) months of employment.  Knowledge:  Proficient use of Microsoft Office computer software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Ability to learn and efficiently operate Fleet software.  Skills:  Organizational skills.  Proficient data entry skills.  Excellent communication skills via phone, email and in person with customers.  Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with internal staff and customers.  Mental and Physical Abilities:  Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.  Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Frequently required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Additional Information:  Selected applicant must pass background investigation, physical examination and drug screen.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Functions:  Writes service repair orders for vehicles and equipment requiring service and maintenance; issues work orders to internal staff and outside vendors.  Monitors status of internal and external work orders and communicates with user departments and Fleet Supervisors regarding status of work. Communicates regularly via telephone and/or two-way radio, in person, and in writing with employees, supervisors, co-workers, and vendors; provides information, guidance, and assistance; takes and relays messages; returns calls as necessary.  Receives, prepares and/or completes various forms, reports, work orders, manuals, correspondence or other documentation; reviews, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.  Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data in computer database; verifies the accuracy of entered data; makes corrections; uses knowledge of various software programs to operate a computer effectively and efficiently.  Performs other related work as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure of up to 80% of work time to dirt, dust, extremes of temperature, and noxious fumes and odors.
