The Pump Station Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance and specialized/technical installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and instruments associated with treatment of wastewater at the Town’s Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF) and Pump Stations. Under general supervision of the Crew Supervisor Maintenance, the Pump Station Maintenance Technician performs skilled work to ensure proper maintenance, repair, and installation of the facility’s treatment and pumping equipment to prevent an interruption in treatment and ensure the final product meets the quality standards of the federal/state agencies and that of the Wastewater Division. High School diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of previous experience mechanical engine repair, maintenance, electrical, and/or instrumentation ; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Valid Virginia driver’s license with the ability to meet and maintain Town insurability requirements and a minimum of two (2) years driving experience. Must obtain Class IV Wastewater Works Operator License by the second examination attempt or within one (1) year from the date of hire, whichever comes first. To view the complete job description, starting rate, and to apply visit https://va-christiansburg.civicplushrms.com/careers/.
