Description	This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks including: monitoring, troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, installing, repairing and/or replacing electrical equipment, instruments and process equipment at the water treatment plant. The technician evaluates and corrects equipment malfunctions, maintains record of modifications done to any equipment at the plant and/or pump stations, and responds to and resolves any equipment or process-related emergencies. Essential Job Functions: •Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, procure and install new, defective and replacement components on all water treatment process equipment •Undertake preventive and predictive maintenance by performing the recommended inspection, testing, cleaning and analyzing of operating data to identify any equipment problems •Calibrate and repair instruments installed to operate electric and pneumatic control devices, flow measuring and signal transmitting devices •Install, debug, troubleshoot, calibrate and replace defective pieces of equipment, sensors, monitoring and measuring equipment including pressure, temperature and flow measuring devices. •Reprogram Programmable Logic Controllers as necessary due to equipment failure, power loss or power surges •Repair, replace or make improvements to area lighting equipment, power outlets and heaters installed throughout the water plant complex and offsite storage tank facilities •Identify, locate and establish communication with equipment manufacturers, vendors and technical specialists to seek assistance to resolve equipment related issues •Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and replace low voltage (110 volt, 220 volt and 440 volt, 3 phase) electrical equipment, control equipment, motor drives, motor control centers, motor operated valves and actuators •Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, improvements and modifications made to all systems, equipment and processes; update wiring diagrams, existing record drawings and schematics as changes are made •Research and obtain specifications for the purchase of specialized tools, test equipment, replacement parts and supplies needed for the overall maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment •Diagnose and repair any malfunctioning electrical equipment, control systems, pumps, motors, air compressors, air blowers, sodium hypochlorite generators, chemical transfer and feed equipment •Monitor, diagnose, repair and/or replace identified defective equipment on the Pall microfiltration system •Monitor weekly testing and maintenance of the emergency standby generators •Perform other related duties as assigned Minimum Education and Experience: •Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education •Sufficient experience to thoroughly understand the basic principles relevant to the position and to be able to answer questions and to resolve problems, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems •Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated • Possession of or ability to obtain an ODEQ issued class C Waterworks Operator License within one year
