Description Under general supervision, performs mechanical duties in the repair and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment. Essential Job Functions: •Diagnoses and repairs City-owned vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to automobiles, trucks, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, emergency vehicles, refuse trucks, and small engines. •Outfits new vehicles and equipment bought by the City. •Fabricates parts to repair or alter equipment. •Assists in the maintenance and repair of division facilities. •Assists with preventative maintenance on City vehicles. •Researches technical information pertaining to equipment and machinery regarding proper diagnostics and repair. •Maintains personal tools with City-funded tool allowance. •Makes field service calls as necessary. •Maintains and repairs onboard computer systems. •Maintains shop equipment. •Performs monthly generator checks. •Welds and cuts materials in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. •Assists fellow coworkers with diagnosis on problematic write-ups. •Responds to after-hours emergencies. •Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class B CDL Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
