Description

Provides athletic services, assists in locating and furnishing equipment; explains athletic services, activities, facilities, rules, assist in activities registration; filing, writing reports and evaluating athletic programs, to include other duties as assigned. Under general supervision, assist in the planning, promotion, development, coordination and supervision of youth and adult programs including athletics classes, leagues, field maintenance, special events, and sports camps throughout the City. Probable shift work due to evening and weekend events. Job location will vary due to seasonal activities, programs, and athletic events. Works directly with coaches, players, participants, and the public. Respond to public inquiries about athletic programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings. Works directly with the public on a day to day basis. Interprets and administers city rules and regulations. Assists and prepares data for athletic events. Provides advice on athletic issues to patrons. Assists in coordinating the athletics program with city departments, and outside organizations such as the school district and various community based groups. Machines, Tools, Equipment and Work Aids. Personal computer, including word processing and data base management software; calculator, copy and fax machine; and telephone. Qualifications: Knowledge of the principles and practices of a recreation center and programs; Knowledge of athletic events and procedures. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. Ability to assist in organizing. Ability to coordinate, analyze and utilize a variety of reports and records; ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with employees, organization, school and the general public. High School diploma or GED required. Possess or ability to obtain a Texas Drivers License.

 

Salary is $12.15 per hour.
