The Solid Waste Services Department, through the Solid Waste Services Enterprise Fund, is responsible for solid waste collection and disposal services, including residential, recycling, brush and bulky waste, and special waste collection. The department has 97 budgeted positions, and its FY 2018-19 budget was $16,173,455. The City of Irving is currently seeking a strong leader with a passion for public service and community to serve as the next Solid Waste Services Director. The Solid Waste Services Director plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities of the Solid Waste Services department, including management of the landfill.

The selected candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, as well as at least 10 years of combined solid waste management and general business management experience. The salary for this position is $109,968+ depending on qualifications and experience.
