Description | Oversees and directs operations of the electric, gas, public utilities, and water distribution, water treatment, sewer collection, and wastewater treatment departments; supervises personnel; prepares and administers annual department budget; and ensures compliance with state and federal utility laws and regulations. Assists with the direction of Development Services, Municipal Airport, and Public Works operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering, public administration, construction management, or a related field, plus eight years of experience, at least four of which involved supervision; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. General management principles; budgeting principles and procedures; computers; standard office practices and procedures; basic accounting functions; practices and procedures of utility design and construction; and city systems, procedures, codes, and ordinances; pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes and regulations including laws and regulations related to water, wastewater, gas, and electric systems. |
