Physical Security Program Administrator (Official Job Title: Business Professional III) (New FY20 Budgeted Position - Selected candidate will start on or after 10/1):  This is professional level work directing the County’s security functions, including physical security of  employees, facilities and assets.

This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug-screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years.

Duties:

• Oversees security initiatives, including but not limited to camera systems, contracted security personnel and security policies and procedures.
• Functions as advisor to County management and staff regarding security issues.
• Prepares reports and/or makes presentations on internal investigations, losses, or violations of regulations, policies and procedures.
• Develops and/or manages investigation programs, including collection and preservation of video and notes of surveillance processes or investigative interviews.
• Conducts physical examinations of property to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Plans, directs and coordinates security activities to safeguard county assets, employees, guests, or others on county property.
• Creates and implements security standards, policies, and procedures.
• With Risk Manager, serves as Safety Officer during Emergency Operations Center activation in response to an emergency event.
• Conducts training of county employees in security related issues to ensure proper training, in compliance with County, State and Federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:  A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Planning, Industrial/ Engineering Technology or job-related field; three (3) years of professional job-related experience.  A Master’s Degree preferred and can count for one year of experience OR  Seven (7) years professional job-related experience in management of technical projects/programs and strategic planning may substitute for the required education.
