Duties include maintaining the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) meter reading system; ensuring read capture for monthly utility billing; investigating water meter reads to ensure billing accuracy; investigating water meter and remote reading functionality; installing and removing water meters up to 1”, remote readers, and other reading devices; and monitoring fire hydrants as part of a regular maintenance program. Duties typically will require lifting up to 75 pounds frequently. No experience is necessary, but a high school diploma or GED is required. To be hired at the higher pay range, must have one year experience in utilities maintenance or meter services, a valid Class A Texas CDL and a TCEQ Class C Water license. If not presently in possession of these licenses, as a condition of continued employment and to advance to the higher pay range, must obtain Class A Texas CDL and TCEQ Class C Water license within a specified timeframe.
