The City of Johns Creek is ideally situated in north Fulton County, Georgia, a northeastern suburb of Atlanta. The city’s 84,000 residents enjoy the easy access to rivers, lakes, mountains and Downtown Atlanta just 27 miles to the southwest.

The City of Johns Creek operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The City Council consists of the Mayor and six Council members.  The City Manager serves as the chief executive of the City of Johns Creek and manages the day-to-day operations and activities of the organization based on ordinances and policies established by the City Council.

The City of Johns Creek seeks an exceptionally strong, transparent, honest, and resilient leader with the highest integrity, who thrives on challenges and high expectations to become its new City Manager.

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, political science, or other related field from an accredited  college or university and must have six (6) or more years of experience in local government (city or county), with at least two (2) years of experience as a city/county manager in a city similar in size to Johns Creek, or experience as an assistant city/county manager in a city larger than Johns Creek.

A master's degree in public administration or business administration, bilingual (verbal and/or written language skills), six (6) or more years in a senior management position (department head or higher), and experience in working directly or closely with Community Development are preferred qualifications. The new City Manager should be a continuous learner, looking for new ideas and best practices for local government.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered.  The starting salary will be negotiable in the range of $167,490 to $224,332 annually.
