Description | Destination Marketing Manager Job Summary The Destination Marketing Manager (DMM) will be responsible for executing the Destination Strategic Plan. The DMM will facilitate an active relationship with hotels/restaurants & attractions in the Temple/Bell County Metropolitan Area. Work involves marketing the Temple Metropolitan Area to stimulate economic development and promote tourism. Work is performed under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications. Considerable independent judgment, discretion, and initiative are exercised in this position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities •Works with the Convention & Visitors Bureau to develop strategies, programs, and policies to promote tourism. •Develops and implements effective visitor and tourism campaigns (including downtown). •Develops and implements a tourism marketing plan for the Temple Metropolitan Area working closely with hotels/motels, campgrounds, restaurants & all area attractions. •Monitors revenues and expenditures within the Tourism Marketing budget to ensure sound fiscal control. •Oversees creative message development & brand strategy. •Organizes various media information and makes affordable and effective media buys to promote tourism in the Temple area. •Oversees design/printing of tourism marketing materials. •Plans new research-based advertising strategies for current and subsequent years that will increase leisure travel market share. •Develops relationships with local, regional and national tourism-based publications. •Prepares and releases press kits to media; builds campaigns and stories for unique selling points. •Designs, develops and conducts familiarization tours of Temple area for media, event planning, and visitors. •Implements cooperative advertising programs while integrating the tourism related segments that exist in the Temple area (merchants, food/lodging, campgrounds, the arts, recreation, state parks). •Promotes attractions & community events/festivals to residents, business owners, and visitors. •Coordinates and implements social media strategies and campaigns to engage City residents, business owners, and visitors. •Assists with all website and social media content and programming. •Contributes to and monitors the flow of new website content. •Attends meetings, seminars, conventions, and workshops to further knowledge, and stay informed of the changes in the tourism industry, and exchange information.
