Description

Maintains pivots in good working order and prevents holding ponds from overflowing.

 

 Essential Job Duties:

  • Determines which pump units to operate and maintains center pivots in good working order. Repairs and services when necessary.
  • Operates gates and lagoon system in order to store water without allowing holding ponds to overflow. Determines where and when to store water.
  • Monitors operations in order to apply the proper amount of water.
  • Repairs water line leaks and breaks.
  • Uses equipment such as loaders and backhoes in order to fill gullies caused by operations.
  • Maintains and repairs electrical systems on central pivot units.
  • Performs related duties as required.

 

 Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Ability to sit, stand and transport self from building to building. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Employee will work in seasonal temperatures bending, lifting, kneeling, twisting and climbing in order to operate and maintain plant equipment. Sufficient strength and agility to lift heavy objects daily. Employee can work with potential mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards while collecting samples. Employee may be exposed to communicable diseases while handling raw sewage.

 

 Required Qualifications:

Ability to effectively communicate with employees in order to receive work orders or instructions for any project.

Ability to read operator's manuals, gauges and work orders in order to maintain or repair meters or parts. Skill in writing to record results.

High school diploma or equivalent required plus six months to one year of experience. C Operator's certification from the TNRCC. Valid Texas Driver's License required.
