The Town of Addison, within Dallas County and the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, is easily accessible from numerous major roadways and is only 20-25 minutes from both DFW and Love Field Airports. The Town’s prime location makes it truly a destination community. Addison’s population of 15,830 grows to nearly 100,000 daily. Addison is a full-service, home rule city operating under a Council- Manager form of government. The City Council is comprised of the Mayor and six Council members.

The Town seeks a strong leader who can establish and maintain effective working relationships to serve as its new Director of Public Works & Engineering. Someone with strong technical skills, up-to-date knowledge of best practices in the field, and the ability to think strategically to establish short and long-range plans is desired. Under administrative direction, the Director of Public Works & Engineering leads, directs, and guides the Public Works & Engineering Services department, which includes divisions for streets, stormwater, water and wastewater, engineering, civil inspection, and operations. 

The selected candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, engineering, or a related field and have seven (7) years of project management experience, including five (5) years of supervisory or management experience in public works. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills will be considered. A safe driving record, clear criminal background check, and clear pre-employment drug screen are required.
