The Capital Area Council of Governments, CAPCOG, is an organization of city and county governments in the 10-county region surrounding the Austin metro area created to foster collaboration at the regional level and promote economy and efficiency in the coordinated development of the region. Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area (AAACAP), a division within CAPCOG, provides quality services to support the health, safety, and well-being of older individuals in the 10-county Capital Area through a variety of programs and activities.

Area Agency on Aging of the Capital Area (AAACAP), a division within CAPCOG, is seeking candidates to be an active part of their team as an Ombudsman. This position mediates difficult situations of individuals and/or their families in long-term care facilities, primarily regarding residents’ rights, and assists them in resolution of those situations.  Work involves collecting, investigating, preparing, reviewing, and documenting case data.  Frequent travel throughout the region is required.  Must have valid driver license, dependable transportation for travel within the 10-county region, and proof of vehicle insurance. Must pass a background check processed by the Texas Health and Human Services. Must be able to obtain Certified Ombudsman status within three months of hire date.

Salary Range: $18.15 to $20.44 hourly
