Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule 

Grade:  209

Salary:  $48,020 - $78,687 Annually (Dependent on Qualifications)

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates technical staff review by multiple departments to ensure timely review, comment and execution of multiple projects.
  • Oversee treatment related projects and programs.
  • Assures timely review of projects to a decision point by the appropriate decision maker and is responsible for monitoring cost, schedule and performance goals.
  • Review construction plans for compliance with TCEQ, city codes, and regulations of the city.
  • Proactively anticipates design issues to be resolved and assists in bringing staff together to provide clarity and resolve issues as quickly as possible during plan review and construction stages.
  • Develop automated work tools and informational materials to assist staff, consultants, and contractors to meet cost, quality and schedule goals.
  • Coordinate program activities with other City departments and other governmental agencies.
  • Serves on internal and external committees in order to maintain consensus on process management functions and other related functions.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in Engineering, Water Treatment process control or Environmental Science
  • A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
  • A TCEQ Class C Surface Water license is required within one (1) year of hire
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Basis of Rating 

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

  • Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
  • Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
