Grade:  213

Salary:  $57,792 - $94,699 Annually (Dependent on Qualifications)

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities 

The Application Analyst III is responsible for the maintenance and availability of the Utility Business System and additional applications.

  • Monitor the functionality of the utility business office systems and business processes.
  • Actively involved in the configuration of the STAR meter reading system, and in the process of the meter reading information uploaded into the billing system.
  • Maintain application system security by establishing security procedures required by the application system and UBO/Finance departmental guidelines to better serve internal/external customers, improve systems by studying current business functions.
  • Analyze system problems to determine the cause, and if necessary, address to appropriate channels for a solution.
  • Serve as primary point of contact by providing ongoing support to internal/external customers, initiating trouble shooting process with department software application.
  • Modify and maintain reports needed for billing and collections.
  • Develop complex SQL queries to retrieve utility information or financial data for internal City departments or open records requests.
  • Create and maintain departmental requested reports by defining report specifications and developing application specific queries as requested.
  • Conduct training classes, set-up demos, provide training material, and assistance to perform tasks on system application.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending training programs to enhance skills sets.
  • Recommend and implement new business process designs and/or software modifications.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience
  • A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating 

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.

Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
