ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities 

The Construction Inspector will manage the QA functions and compliance as well as the commercial relationship with a general contractor.

• Must have the ability to read and understand all types of engineering and architectural plans and specifications.
• Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
• Inspect all types of Municipal infrastructure including streets, drainage, water, wastewater or other types of construction work and materials to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Attend project meetings.
• Prepare required contract documentation (daily reports, monthly estimates, etc.)
• Coordinate all quality control testing with contracted testing laboratories.
• Assist in resolving construction problems and disputes.
• Interact with the public on any issues associated with assigned construction projects.
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience
• A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating 

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
